Mixture Optimization of Concrete Paving Blocks Containing Waste Silt

Most of the waste materials recycled for production new construction are by-products various manufacturing processes, such as aggregate washing process. Recycling is paramount importance since it could reduce adverse environmental impacts resulting from landfilling. Various studies have attempted to recycle different types and into concrete paving blocks. However, availability literature on blocks containing silt quite scarce. Thus, current paper focuses mix design optimization high amounts Using mixture Design Experiments (DOE), 12 sets with blends were produced optimize design. Once final was achieved, physical mechanical properties investigated following EN 1338 standard. Shape dimension measurements tests, including water absorption, tensile splitting strength, abrasion resistance, slip/skid resistance conducted experimental samples. Overall, showed promising future applications in pedestrian walking paths.
